GEORGIA'S STORY

I am a writer, podcaster, studio owner, qualified ballet teacher and founder of Balanced Ballerinas.

I am a registered Australian Conservatoire of Ballet teacher and have studied the Vaganova method of ballet for the past 20 years. I am also a certified Progressing Ballet Technique instructor and hold a Certificate III in Dance from The Australian Ballet School and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

IT WASN'T ALWAYS EASY

I have been involved with ballet my entire life, slipping on the first pair of ballet shoes at the age of three before continuing my training at The Australian Ballet School from the age of fifteen.

However, whilst most dancers live for the stage, performing in front of audiences gave me anxiety and I couldn’t wait for the feeling after the performance – relief.

Recognising this pattern as an unhealthy way to live, I decided to leave the path of becoming a professional ballerina in a company.

To be honest, I dreamt of not having to feel anxious about performing and I had developed some really unhealthy eating patterns… so I hung up my pointe shoes and went to The University of Queensland to complete a Bachelor of Communications.

I believe this was a pivotal move in assisting me to be one of the top adult ballet coaches in the world with a successful bricks and mortar studio that delivers ballet to humans from all walks of life!

My ability to communicate the complex concepts of ballet in a fun and supportive environment truly gets the best out my students and watching them transform gives me more joy than anything in the world.
