Capturing Content In The Studio Made Easy!

Jul 20, 2024

Capturing content in the studio is an essential practice for dance teachers aiming to boost their personal brand and enhance class engagement. By documenting your teaching methods, choreography, and student progress, you create a visual portfolio that showcases your expertise and unique approach to ballet.

This not only establishes your authority in the field but also attracts potential students and their parents who are seeking high-quality dance education. Regularly sharing this content on social media platforms can significantly increase your visibility, making it easier for new students to find and enrol in your classes.

Moreover, sharing content from your classes can greatly enhance student engagement and motivation. When students see their progress and achievements highlighted, it boosts their confidence and encourages them to put in more effort.

Additionally, this practice fosters a sense of community and belonging within the studio, as students feel recognised and valued. Highlighting individual and group accomplishments can also inspire other students, creating a positive and motivating learning environment. This increased engagement directly contributes to better class results and overall satisfaction.

Sharing your teaching practices not only inspires others but also demonstrates your commitment to their growth and success, solidifying their loyalty to your studio. So let us share with you some of our favourite tools to easily capture content without disrupting the flow of class...

OUR GO-TO STUDIO TRIPODS

We’ve spent years filming social media content, educational resources, student auditions and rehearsal videos in the studio. We understand the importance of ease and accessibility so you can capture your studio and students best angle!

We recommend having two tripods, one larger (try this) and one mini (try this) that you can keep at either end of the studio.

It doesn't matter which tripods you choose (there are so many different brands out there!) but the game changer is the magnetic mount for your phone so you can quickly and easily capture content without much thought or fiddling around.

We recommend the UBeesize Magnetic Mount which you can attach to either tripod. You can find this product HERE

THE PERFECT STUDIO CAMERA

A question we’re often asked is, ‘What camera do you use?’ when we post content that’s not filmed with an iPhone.

The Sony ZV-1 Vlogging Camera is our go-to, giving us all the professional feels without the fuss. It's a little pricey, but quite reasonable when you consider we've had ours for a few years now and it still doesn't disappoint. You can find this product HERE

And if you REALLY want to get fancy, we recommend investing in a Rode Wireless Lapel Mic for capturing voice.

THE MAGSAFE OCTOBUDDY SOLUTION

If you’ve seen those sticky things on people’s phones and thought, ‘I can’t commit to having that stuck to the back of my phone!’ we don’t blame you.

Firstly they stick to EVERYTHING and when you have a sleeping baby and you’ve accidentally put your phone down and have to pick it up without making a sound - nightmare!

I also didn’t like not being able to use my MagSafe charger with a permanent suction device on the back.

This MagSafe Octobuddy is the solution to that problem, with a little creativity you now have a suction device that's not permanently attached to your phone! You can find this product HERE
