A little bored with your snack options? Well hopefully these three ideas spark some creativity in the kitchen to inspire a healthy approach to snacking…

  1. Sweet Rice Cake
  • handful of blueberries
  • rice cakes
  • natural peanut butter

As long as you choose a ‘real’ peanut butter from the health food store, this is a healthy option for those with a sweet tooth. It’s like having a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with lighter carbs and healthier fats.

2. Papaya Bowl

  • half a papaya
  • 1 x banana
  • 3 chopped dates
  • scoop of natural yoghurt

It’s like natures bowl! This particular snack is actually very filling with lots of nutrient dense ingredients. The enzymes found in papaya and dates actually aid digestion, whilst the banana and yogurt have lots of potassium and calcium to lower blood pressure.

3. Avocado-Fetta Nut Smash

  • piece of wholegrain bread (or rice cake)
  • fetta cheese
  • walnuts

Walnuts don’t just look like a brain, they’re actually the top nut for brain health! Combined with the good fats found in avocado and the probiotics found in fetta this is a winner. Also, if you are sensitive to dairy products or struggle with skin issues (like me!) fetta is the least allergenic and inflammatory, making it the best cheese option out there.
