This weeks ‘homework’ is three simple exercises that will improve your back strength, which results in lovelier arabesques, grande allegro and adage!
There’s only three simple movements.
- Thoracic Squeeze – pop one hand over the other, keeping the arms in an oval shape (almost in an ugly 5th position!), gently lift as far as you can.
- Arabesque Leg Lifts – focus on switching on the abdominals and pelvic floor, lift each leg separately in a turned-out position, pointed toes of course.
- Swan Glides – visualise the word ‘glide’ because you want to feel your arms gliding past your body (from 5th position to just above your booty) to enable the shoulder blades to draw together and your chest to pop off the ground gracefully (be gentle, don’t force anything).
Repeat each movement x 8 for three rounds! In this video I demonstrate one round. Join me! Let me know how you go.
